Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday to present a preliminary report detailing the extensive crop damage caused by floods and heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Chouhan posted on social media, stating, ''I have handed over the preliminary report of damage caused in the flood and heavy rain-affected areas of AP and Telangana. Soon, a central team will visit the affected areas and assess the damage.''

According to Chouhan, the floods, triggered by a depression over the Bay of Bengal, have resulted in severe crop damage, with approximately 1.8 lakh hectares impacted in Andhra Pradesh alone. The central government has assured support for recovery efforts in the flood-hit regions.
