DIG CRPF Manish Kumar Sachar stated on Wednesday that the situation is fully under control following new instances of violence in Manipur. He affirmed that security forces are firmly responding to miscreants.

'The Central Reserve Police Force, Assam Rifles, and Manipur police commandos are stationed at Gamgiphai, the interstate border checkpoint between Kangpokpi district (a Kuki area) and West Imphal District (a Meitei Area),' DIG Sachar told ANI. 'Forces are monitoring the checkpoint regularly to prevent unauthorized entry of any individuals or goods.'

Sachar added, 'The situation is under control. Reports of an attack on a CRPF camp occurred in a fringe area. Minor incidents on the outskirts are being handled, and forces are delivering strong responses to the miscreants.'

He continued, 'Unlawful individuals or miscreants are gradually losing ground. Following the violence, the state government has suspended Internet services until September 15.'

Manipur Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya expressed deep concerns over the violence and urged stakeholders to establish peace. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma also expressed concerns, calling for the Indian government's intervention.

'Manipur's situation is complex due to its diverse communities and historical conflicts,' Sangma noted. 'A political solution is essential where all communities are brought together on one platform. Only the Government of India can facilitate this process.'

On September 10, Manipur Police urged the public to avoid violent protests and rely on peaceful demonstrations after obtaining proper permissions. They warned against spreading fake news or rumors on social media, which could exacerbate the situation. The police are closely monitoring social media to prevent the spread of misinformation, and strong legal actions will be taken against the perpetrators,' they stated in a post on X. (ANI)
