Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat expressed her joy on Tuesday, noting that it was a significant honor for her to be seen as an inspiration by young girls. She added that should the Congress government come to power in Haryana, girls in the state would not have to endure the struggles she faced. 'We are working hard; everyone has the right to fight. We believe in our honesty and truth, and that the people will support us. Being among the people and being considered an inspiration by girls is a matter of great happiness for me,' Phogat told ANI.

During a meeting with college girls, Phogat addressed various issues they were experiencing and promised solutions if Congress wins the state assembly polls. 'There is much to be done for girls. The college girls told me they lack bus transportation to campus. Those preparing for jobs don't have access to running tracks or activity facilities. Safety is also a major concern. I am from this area and recognize the many issues that require attention. I assure everyone that under a Congress government, the hardships I faced won't be repeated,' she stated.

Earlier today, Phogat inaugurated the Congress election office in Julana, Haryana, performing a ceremonial 'havan'. She voiced confidence in the support of the people in the upcoming elections. 'These individuals have supported me in wrestling, and I am sure they will back us in the Haryana elections. I've always relied on God and my elders, and even today, I am nothing without them. With their blessings, I will move forward confidently,' Phogat assured.

Vinesh Phogat, an Olympian wrestler, joined the Congress on September 6, providing a significant boost to the party. Haryana's 90-member legislative assembly elections will be held on October 5, with the last date for nominations on September 12, and vote counting on October 8. In the 2019 assembly polls, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 40 seats, while Congress secured 30 seats. (ANI)
