Amit Shah Emphasizes Cybersecurity's Role in National Progress at I4C Anniversary

Terming cybersecurity an integral part of national security, Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that the nation's progress hinges on ensuring cybersecurity. Speaking at the 1st Foundation Day celebration of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) in Delhi, Shah noted that cybercrime knows no boundaries, urging all stakeholders to collaborate in combating this menace.
"Without cybersecurity, the development of the nation is impossible at this point. Technology is a blessing to humanity. Technology is being used extensively to boost the economy, but at the same time, we face many threats because of it," he stated. Shah announced plans to train 5,000 cyber commandos over the next five years to tackle cyber threats.
He further proposed the creation of a national-level cyber suspect registry to improve crime prevention efforts. Starting September 10, I4C will launch a widespread awareness campaign across multiple platforms, aimed at educating the public on cybercrime prevention. Shah also highlighted India's significant role in digital transactions and lauded I4C's efforts in issuing over 600 advisories and blocking various malicious cyber entities.
