Tragic Pipeline Fire Claims Two Lives in Orenburg
A fire at an oil pipeline in Russia's Orenburg region has tragically claimed two lives. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze at the Garshinskoye oilfield, owned by NNK-Orenburgneftegaz. The fire has been extinguished, and a criminal case has been opened for suspected safety violations.
Two people have tragically died in a fire at an oil pipeline located in Russia's Orenburg region, approximately 1,500 km (930 miles) southeast of Moscow, according to the regional prosecutor's office.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire, which occurred at the Garshinskoye oilfield. The Interfax news agency reports that the pipeline is owned by the NNK-Orenburgneftegaz company. Local emergency services have confirmed that the fire has now been extinguished.
The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case to look into a possible violation of industrial safety requirements that may have led to the deaths.
