Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inspected the flood-affected areas in the Vijayawada district on Monday, promising substantial aid to the affected residents. Naidu assured that all possible measures would be taken to restore normalcy.

'All belongings and houses in the flooded areas were damaged. We will send experts to the houses to tend to the repair work. We will help repair vehicles and provide financial assistance. You will leave here only after everything that is needed to restore normalcy is done,' said CM Naidu. He emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and providing necessary food and water supplies.

Naidu attributed the current flooding in Vijayawada to the previous government's neglect of canal and irrigation maintenance. 'Breaches in the Budameru canal led to waterlogging in several areas,' he explained. The state government has also established medical camps to prevent the spread of diseases.

Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav reported that each medical camp has two medical officers and door-to-door medical surveys have covered over one lakh people in the past week. 'To combat vector-borne diseases, we are conducting house-to-house vector surveillance,' Yadav said. Flood waters have receded in some areas but significant waterlogging persists.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also visited the region, inspecting the severe damage to agricultural fields. 'Farmers have experienced a complete loss of crops, including Banana, Haldi, Paddy, and vegetables,' Chouhan stated. He pledged full central government support to assist the state during this crisis.
