India and UAE Expand Strategic Energy Ties with Four New Agreements
India and the UAE signed four agreements to bolster energy cooperation, with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussing strategic ties. India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) strengthened their strategic energy cooperation by signing four new agreements on Monday. The agreements were inked during wide-ranging talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The key agreements include a long-term LNG supply plan between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, and another between ADNOC and India Strategic Petroleum Reserve Ltd. Additionally, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the operation and maintenance of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.
The fourth pact is a production concession agreement for Abu Dhabi's onshore Block One between Urja Bharat and ADNOC. The Gujarat government also signed a separate pact with Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC to establish food parks in India. The discussions also covered broader strategic ties, including the situation in Gaza and global challenges.
