A 28-year-old civil services aspirant allegedly ended his life by jumping from the eighth floor of a building in Thane, Maharashtra, police reported on Sunday.

The tragic incident occurred around 8:30 PM on Saturday in the Vartak Nagar area.

Authorities discovered a suicide note at his residence, where he expressed regret over failing to meet his family's high expectations and struggling to cope with life's pressures, according to an official from the Vartak Nagar police station.

The man, who was reportedly depressed after failing to clear the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam, jumped from his eighth-floor apartment and succumbed to injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

The official mentioned that the suicide note stated he had difficulty surviving in this world and apologized to his parents and siblings, emphasizing no one else was responsible for his death. The body has been sent for postmortem, and a case of accidental death has been registered by the Vartak Nagar police.
