On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, initiated the Subhadra Yojana awareness campaign by flagging off the 'Subhadra Awareness Rath'. Parida expressed her gratitude, stating, 'It is my good fortune that on Ganesh Chaturthi, the Subhadra Yojana has been started by CM Mohan Charan Majhi.'

The scheme will deploy a specialized vehicle, termed the 'rajrath', to cover 338 units and reach households directly. Parida highlighted the importance of the initiative, noting that 'For the first time in Odisha, more than 1 crore women will benefit from the Subhadra Yojana.' She emphasized the scheme's goal of women's empowerment, stating, 'The main aim of the Subhadra Yojana is to empower women because an empowered woman uplifts the entire family, thus aiming to uplift over a crore families in Odisha.'

Parida expressed hope that the scheme will significantly contribute to Prime Minister Modi's vision of creating 'lakhpati didis' and inspire Odisha's women to become 'crorepatis'. Additionally, Parida invoked Goddess Subhadra's blessings for the success of the scheme. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Parida launched the 'Subhadra Awareness Van'. CM Majhi announced, 'The Subhadra scheme will be launched on September 17, helping to financially empower women across Odisha. Therefore, on Ganesh Chaturthi, we are flagging off the 'Subhadra Awareness Rath' in Bhubaneswar and across Odisha to raise awareness about the scheme, which will benefit over 1 crore women in the state.'

Earlier, on Monday, Deputy CM Parida unveiled the 'Subhadra Yojana' portal at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. She explained, 'Beneficiaries willing to apply for the flagship scheme can now visit the official Subhadra website to avail themselves of the benefits by sharing necessary details. It will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17.' The scheme, with a Rs 10,000 crore budget, has prepared a list of 1.5 crore women beneficiaries with a standard procedure for fund distribution. CM Majhi added, 'No development can be achieved by ignoring women. The dream of every woman for financial independence and empowerment will be fulfilled with the implementation of the scheme.'

Majhi also underscored the government's commitment to supporting the hopes and dreams of Odisha's 4.5 crore people and preserving Odia culture with a Rs 200 crore fund.
