The Assam Police have successfully arrested two individuals accused of raping a minor in the Dhing area of Nagaon district. The arrests were confirmed by a senior police official on Friday.

Nagaon Superintendent of Police, Swapnaneel Deka, reported that both suspects surrendered to the police. Authorities are now interrogating the accused and will proceed with legal actions. "Both have surrendered today (September 6). We are now interrogating them and will take action as per law. Procedures are ongoing, and we plan to present them to the court tomorrow to seek remand," stated Deka.

The incident involved the gang-rape of a minor girl by three individuals on August 22, while she was returning from tuition classes. Locals found the victim in a semi-conscious state and rushed her to a hospital. The primary accused was initially arrested but was found dead after allegedly escaping police custody. Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned the arrests on social media and declared he won't let "Miya Muslim" take over the state.
