Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to all the teachers in the state on the occasion of Teachers' Day, hailing them as the 'true nation builders.' In his official message, Dhami paid homage to former President, educationist, and philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, highlighting the pivotal role teachers play in nation-building.

The Chief Minister remarked that teachers are instrumental in shaping the character of students and transforming them into responsible citizens. He emphasized that educators not only contribute significantly to nation-building through education but also play a crucial role in steering societal progress.

Dhami acknowledged the essential role of teachers in the successful implementation of state government schemes aimed at educational development. He expressed that societies and countries advance where teachers are held in high regard and urged for the reinforcement of India's tradition of respecting educators. On this occasion, he called upon students to honor their teachers and contribute to the nation and state's development by becoming exemplary citizens.

Teachers' Day, celebrated annually on 5 September, is dedicated to recognizing teachers' contributions to students' lives. The day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a notable scholar and Bharat Ratna recipient, born on this day in 1888. Dr. Radhakrishnan served as India's first Vice President from 1952 to 1962 and the second President from 1962 to 1967.
