Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has instructed District Collectors to speed up recovery operations in areas impacted by heavy rains, prioritizing the distribution of cash assistance and household aid to families in need. In response, district administrations are processing payments across both rural and urban regions through comprehensive surveys.

Addressing the media at the State Emergency Operation Center, Relief Commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey revealed that 1,120 teams have conducted surveys in various districts, leading to the disbursement of Rs 8.04 crores in cash relief to 1,69,561 people. Additionally, Rs 20.07 crores have been distributed for household and clothing assistance to 50,111 families.

Over the past two days, surveys are ongoing in several districts to assess the damage further. Teams from the NDRF, SDRF, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard have successfully rescued 37,050 people and relocated 42,083 to safer locations. Efforts continue to restore 2,230 km of damaged roads and power in affected villages and cities.
