The bodies of nine Naxals, killed in an encounter with security personnel, were brought to the mortuary of Dantewada District Hospital in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. The security forces neutralized these Naxals during an operation in the forest at the Dantewada-Bijapur border on Tuesday.

Dantewada SP Gaurav Rai confirmed that a large number of SLR rifles, .303 Rifles, and .315 Bore rifles were recovered from the Naxals. All security personnel involved in the operation were unharmed. Following the encounter, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the bravery of the soldiers, emphasizing that the Bharatiya Janata Party has been combating Naxalism since it assumed power, and predicted its imminent eradication.

"The BJP has been fighting naxalism since it came to power. Our soldiers are fighting, and we salute their bravery. Nine Naxalites have been killed, and we salute our forces. Naxalism is shrinking and soon it will be wiped out," CM Sai told ANI. In a post on X, he asserted that the government's fight against Naxalism will persist until it is completely eradicated.

In the joint operation by DRG and CRPF, 13 active Maoists were reported captured in Bijapur district. Chhattisgarh Deputy CM and Home Minister Vijay Sharma highlighted that the entire Bastar region is progressing towards peace and development.

"It was a joint operation of DRG and CRPF. In the Bijapur and Dantewada region, nine Naxalites were killed during a search operation. This showcases the strength of our soldiers, and the whole Bastar is moving towards peace and development," Sharma said.
