Tragic Accident in Damoh District: CM Announces Financial Aid

A fatal accident involving a tractor-trolley carrying devotees from Ghugus village to Jatashankar Dham has claimed four lives and injured 28 others. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has offered Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the death of devotees in a tragic accident involving a tractor-trolley. The vehicle, traveling from Ghugus village in Damoh district to Jatashankar Dham, overturned, leading to several fatalities.

The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to each family of the deceased. The accident occurred near Fatehpur village under Mangron police station's jurisdiction between Sunday night and Monday morning.

According to Damoh Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochar, the newly acquired tractor-trolley, carrying approximately 40 devotees, overturned near Fatehpur village. Four individuals lost their lives, two at the scene and two during treatment, while around 28 others sustained injuries. Six seriously injured individuals are receiving treatment at Damoh District Hospital, while 22 others received primary care and were discharged from Hatta civil hospital by Monday evening.

The office of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav posted on X, expressing condolences and announcing financial assistance. "Our condolences are with the bereaved families. The families of the deceased will receive financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each, and the injured will be given Rs 50,000 each," the post read. Additional prayers for the departed souls and wishes for a speedy recovery of the injured were also conveyed.
