The Lalbagh ka Raja Trust is orchestrating an extraordinary Ganesh Mahotsav, featuring the celebrated Lalbagh ka Raja Ganesh statue, in New Delhi this September. First appearing in the capital in 2015, the renowned Mumbai statue draws nationwide attention.

During a press conference at the Constitution Club in New Delhi, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, a member of the organizing committee, unveiled details of the festival. 'People from across the country travel to Mumbai for the darshan of Lalbagh ka Raja. Since 2015, we have also brought the Lalbagh ka Raja to Delhi. I invite everyone in Delhi NCR to join us,' Tiwari announced. Scheduled from September 7-16, the Mahotsav promises grandeur, featuring a 600,000 square feet pandal with wooden flooring, capable of hosting around 500,000 people. Notable features include sections for discourses by Baba Bageshwar Ji and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj, cultural programs, and evening musical performances. The venue is situated conveniently near a metro station.

Rakesh Bindal, Chairman of the Lalbagh ka Raja Trust, provided further insights, stating the festival would feature a giant adventure wheel and numerous attractions expected to draw between 100,000 and 500,000 devotees. Attendees can relish cultural programs, musical performances, and regional delicacies from various food stalls.

The Mahotsav is set to take place at the DDA Ground, near Sanat Nirankari Samagam, Burari, from September 7-16. The Ganesh statue, an eco-friendly replica of the Mumbai idol, will be crafted in the same location as the original and immersed in a specially prepared pit at the event's conclusion.

As Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, preparations are in full swing, with idol makers focusing on eco-friendly statues of Lord Ganesh. Markets bustle with festive fervor, offering idols of various sizes, designs, and colors. With high demand for eco-friendly idols, sculptors are increasingly using clay over plaster of Paris, decorated with herbal colors to minimize water pollution. (ANI)
