Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Monday criticized Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav for allegedly engaging in casteism. Sinha stated that the public will determine who truly serves Bihar, following Yadav's demand for a nationwide caste census and the inclusion of a 65% quota increase in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.

'The people will decide who will be the true servant of Bihar. Those who introduce casteism, indulge in caste politics, increase corruption, and encourage criminality, whether they travel or stay, the people know they are self-serving. This drama is for the upliftment of their own family,' Sinha said. Meanwhile, Sinha's counterpart, Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, recalled Lalu Yadav's 15-year regime and claimed no reservations were granted during that time.

'Lalu Yadav ruled for 15 years without granting reservation to anyone. He only looks out for his family. The welfare of the state never concerned him,' Choudhary alleged. Earlier, Union Minister and former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi questioned Tejashwi Yadav about why his parents did not conduct a caste census during their rule. 'When his parents ruled for 15 years, why did they not pursue it? Tejashwi forgets this history now that he is out of power,' queried Manjhi.

On Sunday, the RJD organized a one-day dharna across all district headquarters in Bihar, demanding the inclusion of the increased reservation limit in the Constitution's Ninth Schedule and the execution of a caste census. 'After raising the reservation limit to 65%, our party held a one-day dharna to push the central government to include it in the Ninth Schedule and conduct a caste census. We will compel Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct it,' Tejashwi Yadav posted on X.
