Kerala Congress chief K Sudhakaran announced on Sunday that the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will investigate a complaint filed by the Mahila Congress regarding derogatory remarks made by Simi Rose Bell John about Congress women leaders. Sudhakaran stated that the KPCC will take the complaint seriously.
Subsequent to her remarks in a TV interview, John was expelled from the party. KPCC General Secretary M Liju confirmed her expulsion through a press release, specifying that KPCC President K Sudhakaran had decided to revoke her primary membership.
The press release highlighted that John's accusations were intended to mentally harass and defame numerous women leaders and workers within the Congress. As per the release, the KPCC leadership was prompted to take disciplinary action based on a joint request from various women leaders within the committee. John responded at a news conference in Kochi, fiercely defending herself and challenging the Congress leadership to provide evidence for the allegations.
