Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher declared that farmers have been agitating in Delhi since February 13, with upcoming mahapanchayats planned for Jind on September 15 and Pipli on September 22. Pandher accused the central government of misusing its agencies, noting election-related tensions in Haryana have intensified the protests.
The protesting farmers remain at the Shambhu border near Ambala, enduring since February 13. Pandher told ANI, "Our Delhi agitation has been ongoing since February 13. Despite heavy force deployment, including 70,000 paramilitary personnel, and injuries to 433 farmers, we remain resolute. This protest is a significant challenge for the BJP government."
With state elections approaching, Pandher criticized the Modi administration for its timing in using central agencies, citing the recent NIA raid on BKU leader Sukhwinder Kaur's house. Pandher stated, "We will not be intimidated. Our protest continues until our demands are met, including a peaceful march to Delhi after 200 days of protest." The Supreme Court has asked Haryana and Punjab to nominate neutral committee members to negotiate with the farmers.
