The Indian Army has deployed six columns to conduct rescue operations in the worst-affected areas of Gujarat, where heavy rainfall has resulted in a flood-like situation. In addition, 350 sanitation workers from Surat have arrived in Vadodara to assist in cleaning the affected areas.

Mahesh Rathod, the in-charge Executive Engineer of the Surat Municipal Corporation, stated that his team has been working for the past two days to clear dirt and debris. They initially conducted a survey to plan their operations. The workers' prior experience with the Surat Municipal Corporation proved beneficial in tackling the challenges they faced in Vadodara.

Amid the ongoing crisis, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with him, seeking updates on the flood situation and relief efforts. PM Modi expressed concern over the Vishwamitri river flooding and assured full support from the Central Government, providing guidance on sanitation and public health measures to restore normalcy swiftly.
