Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired a crucial meeting with the tourism department on Wednesday to review ongoing projects. He urged the officials to expedite key infrastructure developments to fully benefit the people of the state.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for timely completion of tourism projects, including heliports and hotels, to be executed by the Public Works Department (PWD). He instructed that all heliports must adhere strictly to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) guidelines, with detailed project reports (DPRs) to be finalized promptly by the PWD. Sukhu also tasked the tourism department with exploring the potential of establishing a large convention centre in Palampur, capable of accommodating at least 5,000 people, highlighting the necessity for upgraded infrastructure to bolster the state's tourism appeal.

Sukhu also assessed the ongoing expansion work at Kangra Airport, where officers stressed the importance of upgrading tourism infrastructure statewide. He noted that tourism is a critical sector for the state's economy, offering livelihoods to thousands. The meeting saw the presence of key figures, including Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, HP State Tourism Board Vice Chairman RS Bali, and others.
