Amit Shah to Headline 54th BPR&D Foundation Day with Focus on New Criminal Laws

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to grace the 54th foundation day celebration of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) in the national capital as the chief guest. During the event, Shah will deliver the prestigious Anand Swaroop Gupta Memorial Lecture on 'New Criminal Law - Citizen Centric Reforms.'

Shah will also recognize the recipients of the President's Medals for Distinguished Service and Meritorious Service for the years 2023 and 2024. Additionally, he will unveil a special edition of the BPR&D's publication 'Indian Police Journal' focusing on new criminal laws.

Established in 1970, BPR&D aims to transform Indian police forces into smart units capable of addressing policing and internal security challenges. The organization serves as a think tank, developing policies and procedures, promoting cooperation between state and central police bodies, and enhancing service delivery through research and technology.

The inauguration ceremony will also see the participation of Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Directors General of Central Armed Police Forces, chiefs of central police organizations, and senior Home Ministry officials. (ANI)
