Anurag Jaiswal, a student from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai, was discovered dead in his rented apartment, according to a statement released by Mumbai Police on Sunday.

Jaiswal, originally from Lucknow, reportedly attended a party in Vashi the previous night and returned home late. He was taken to a local hospital in Chembur when he did not wake up the following morning, where medical officials declared him dead. Authorities suspect ragging as a possible cause, though the matter is under thorough investigation. Police are currently questioning his friends for more information.

The postmortem examination is scheduled at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar once Jaiswal's family arrives. Meanwhile, Chembur police have registered the case under ADR (Accidental Death Report) and are conducting further investigations.
