The Tripura State Committee of the All India Kisan Sabha has pledged unwavering support for flood-affected families, expressing deep condolences for the tragic loss of lives. The Kisan Sabha extends its sympathy to the impacted communities.

Pabitra Kar, Secretary of the Tripura State Kisan Sabha, detailed widespread destruction throughout the state, with significant impacts in Gomati, South Tripura, Unakoti, North Tripura, Khowai, Dhalai (especially Gandachhara), and Sepahijala districts. Kar stressed that consolations alone cannot compensate for the families' losses, pledging support to aid in rebuilding their lives.

Kar highlighted severe agricultural damage, including the total loss of crops such as Aman paddy, vegetables, and Jhum produce, along with the death of numerous livestock. He cited the Agriculture Minister's data, estimating that 68,826 hectares of farmland and 141,816 farmers have been affected, with Rs 550 crore worth of crops destroyed. These figures may rise as further assessments progress. Kar called for immediate and adequate compensation from the central government and urged the adoption of modern farming techniques for future resilience.

Kar also raised concerns about silt and sand deposits on farmlands, calling for prompt governmental action to clear them. He requested expedited assistance for affected farmers and immediate measures from health centers to prevent waterborne diseases post-flooding. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force has air-dropped over 4,000 food packets in disaster zones and airlifted 28 tons of relief material to date, while the NDRF has deployed 11 teams, evacuating 125 people and retrieving one deceased.

According to state administration data, floods have claimed 24 lives, injured two, and left two missing. Infrastructure and agricultural damages are extensive, with 558 relief camps set up since August 19.
