The West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum staged a protest in Tollygunge, demanding justice for the victim of the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder incident and urging the Kolkata administration to take responsibility. Actor Parambrata Chatterjee emphasized the need for accountability and systematic change to prevent such crimes.
On Saturday, resident doctors' representatives met with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials regarding the alleged sexual assault and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Dr. Kinjal, a representative, stated that they requested a time frame for the investigation, but the CBI indicated it was not possible to set one.
Despite the lack of a clear timeline, the delegation reiterated their demand for justice and urged the CBI to expedite the process. A polygraph test is expected for the main accused, Sandip Ghosh, Sanjay Roy, four doctors, and a volunteer. The court has granted the CBI three weeks to submit a progress report, which is due on September 17.
