Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared the government's ambition to eradicate Naxalism by March 2026. Setting the timeline during an inter-state coordination meeting in Chhattisgarh, Shah evaluated measures taken against Naxal insurgency, alongside the expansion of infrastructure projects in the Red corridors affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE).

Shah emphasized the importance of saturating Central and Chhattisgarh governments' schemes in Naxal-affected areas and addressing ongoing infrastructural challenges. 'The time has come for a final assault, along with decisive politics, to tackle leftism and Naxalism,' Shah asserted, noting a 70% reduction in security personnel and citizen fatalities over the past decade.

The meeting saw participation from top officials, including Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police from neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra. Shah also highlighted the success in fostering faith in development against left-wing extremist ideologies among the populace during the discussions. On August 25, he will inaugurate the Raipur Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office.
