Over the past two days, heavy rainfall across various districts in Tripura has caused severe flooding, with significant damage reported in multiple areas across the state. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized that the administration is prioritizing relief and rescue operations, working around the clock to manage the evolving situation. State authorities are regularly updating the central government on the critical flood conditions.

Initial reports reveal that the flooding has devastated homes, livestock, roads, electricity infrastructures, and agricultural crops. A coordinated effort by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local officials is underway to rescue residents stranded by surging waters. CM Saha took to social media to share updates on the efforts, underlining the severity of the floods and the damage to essential infrastructure.

The Chief Minister assured that citizens from vulnerable areas, particularly near riverbanks, are being moved to safe shelters. He appealed for community support, caution against misinformation, and extended prayers for everyone's safety. CM Saha highlighted the unprecedented nature of the rainfall, with the South district recording 375 mm. He has also sought additional NDRF teams from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who promised full support during the crisis. Saha urged all citizens and organizations to contribute to relief efforts, emphasizing that every effort counts.

Tragically, a landslide triggered by incessant rain claimed three lives in Devipur ADC village. In a swift response, CM Saha convened a review meeting to evaluate the flood situation and implement mitigation measures. He stressed the necessity for exhaustive efforts to deliver timely aid to affected residents. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts continued heavy rainfall over the next two days, exacerbating the challenge ahead for Tripura.
