An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) with the Delhi Traffic Police sustained injuries from a kite string—specifically, Chinese manja—while en route to duty on Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 7:30 am as ASI Surendra was traveling from Yamuna Vihar to his post in Punjabi Bagh Circle.

The kite string wrapped around Surendra's neck near Yamuna Vihar, causing him injury. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital in Bhajanpura for treatment. Fortunately, the injuries were minor, and after medical care, he was discharged and sent home.

No formal complaint has been lodged about the incident. Meanwhile, on August 9, four individuals were arrested, and 12,143 rolls of illicit Chinese manja were confiscated in several operations across Delhi, as stated in an official release on Friday. The Central Range and Cyber Cell of the Crime Branch executed these operations.

A shopkeeper was detained following the registration of a police case. During the investigation, another individual named Adnan was apprehended with 23 rolls in his possession.

In a subsequent operation, Mohd Akib of Bhajanpura, New Delhi, was arrested after a raid resulted in the recovery of 240 rolls from his possession. Another individual, Asjad from Azad Market, Delhi, was similarly arrested following the seizure of 60 rolls of Chinese manja in a separate raid. (ANI)
