78 Swimmers Honor Independence Day with Marathon Swim

On the 78th Independence Day, 78 swimmers from the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) undertook the 'Independence Day Swim,' navigating from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island to Marina Bay, covering 21 islands named after Param Vir Chakra awardees.

Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, Commander in Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN), graced the ceremony marking the triumphant conclusion of the expedition. 'As we celebrate 78 years of freedom, this event tested and showcased the resolve and spirit of our team,' he remarked, paying tribute to the nation's true heroes.

Announcing the swim's completion, ANC tweeted, 'Air Mshl Saju Balakrishnan, CINCAN, marked the end of Expedition PARAMVIR.' Speaking to ANI, Air Marshal Balakrishnan highlighted various welfare missions undertaken under the Viksit Bharat initiative, including education aid, medical assistance, and support to orphanages and ex-servicemen.
