161 field functionaries from the Women and Child Development Ministry have been selected to attend the Independence Day ceremony as special guests.

Chosen from Anganwadis, Sakhi one-stop centres, Child Welfare Committees, and District Child Protection Units, these women workers are honored for their dedication to empowering women and children across India.

Accompanied by 133 spouses or companions, they will visit significant sites in New Delhi on August 14, including Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya and Kartavya Path. An interactive session with the Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur, and the ministry's secretary is scheduled at Vigyan Bhavan.
