Union Minister Emphasises Collaboration for Women's and Children's Welfare at Grassroots Level

Union Minister of Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi has underscored the critical need for coordinated efforts between the central and state governments to ensure the well-being of women and children nationwide, according to a press release by the Ministry. Devi remarked, "Our aim is to ensure that the benefits of our efforts reach the grassroots level, for which it is imperative to work closely with the States. This will not only lead to the development of the States but will also contribute to the overall progress of our country, in line with the Prime Minister's vision of a 'Viksit Bharat'."

Devi chaired her inaugural national-level meeting with state ministers of Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, and Union Territory Administrators via video conferencing on Saturday. The meeting saw the participation of 21 out of 28 state ministers and focused on reviewing ongoing programs and future strategies for several key initiatives under the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

The Union Minister ensured that the benefits of initiatives such as Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya, and Mission Shakti reach the grassroots level. She called for active collaboration between state ministers and the central government to enhance the implementation of these missions. Devi emphasized that such cooperation is vital to achieving the vision of a developed India and securing the welfare of women and children across the country.

State ministers highlighted their efforts toward women's and children's empowerment and welfare within their regions, and appreciated the engagement at the Union Minister's level, suggesting that it would boost the implementation of the three missions. Devi assured them of continued periodic engagement and reiterated the Ministry's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and policies supporting empowerment and well-being.
