Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha lauded Jishnu Dev Varma, former Deputy Chief Minister and newly appointed Telangana Governor, for his substantial contributions to Tripura's development, particularly in advancing the Janajati community. Speaking at a civic reception at Kharang Community Hall in Jirania Sub-Division of Mandwi, Dr. Saha celebrated Dev Varma's appointment as a historic moment and a first for the state.

"His appointment as Governor from Tripura fills us with pride. He has made a significant contribution to the development of our social system," Dr. Saha commented. This appointment marks the first time in India's history that someone from Tripura has achieved such a prominent position.

Dr. Saha emphasized Dev Varma's pivotal role in the state's social and economic advancement, noting his creative contributions in various fields and his leadership in art, culture, and sports. Dev Varma, a member of Tripura's royal family, has also served as Deputy Chief Minister, handling critical portfolios including finance and rural development. In his brief address, Governor Dev Varma expressed gratitude to President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Tripura government, and CM Saha, acknowledging the Chief Minister's efforts in making this achievement possible.
