In a decisive move ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, state Congress leaders are convening in Delhi on Wednesday. Rajesh Thakur, the state party chief, stated that the meeting would address the forthcoming 2024 elections, with twenty senior leaders in attendance. The discussions will center on election strategies and alliance dynamics.

Jharkhand Minister and Congress leader Rameshwar Oraon expressed confidence in the party's alliance, asserting that the coalition would robustly contest the elections. He noted the solid partnership among alliance parties and anticipated improved outcomes from the last elections. The assembly polls, slated for 2024, also coincide with elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the current legislative term in Jharkhand will end in January 2025, with the Election Commission already gearing up for the electoral process. Back in 2019, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and RJD successfully contested the elections together, securing a strong majority in the assembly.
