In a move highlighting India's ongoing border tensions with China, Congress MP Manish Tewari submitted an adjournment notice in Lok Sabha on Monday. Tewari called for an urgent discussion on the 'border situation and the huge trade deficit with China.'
He urged the suspension of Zero Hour and other business to address these critical issues. Tewari mentioned the completion of a 400-metre Chinese bridge in Eastern Ladakh, facilitating rapid troop movement, and underscored India's trade deficit exceeding USD 85 billion in 2023-24.
Monday's agenda in Lok Sabha also includes the introduction of new bills and ministerial motions, such as the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024. In Rajya Sabha, the focus will be on discussions regarding the working of various ministries and legislative adjustments.
