Shiv Sena deputy leader Sanjay Nirupam on Tuesday praised the overwhelming response to the 'Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana,' a flagship scheme from the Eknath Shinde-led government. The initiative, designed to provide Rs 1,500 per month to women, has already seen 1.8 crore applications, with the state aiming to benefit 2.35 crore women.

Nirupam noted that the scheme has been particularly popular in Pune district, which reported 8.63 lakh registrations. He also highlighted the role of the Nari Shakti Doot app in streamlining the application process, stating that it has been downloaded 88 lakh times and ranks as the 27th most downloaded mobile application in the country.

He emphasized the trust placed by the women of the state in Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, adding that those who complete their KYC process will receive Rs 3,000 in their bank accounts by August 17. Applications for the scheme are open until August 31.
