Congress MLA Booked for Allegedly Assaulting Women in Gwalior

Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district saw Congress MLA Sahab Singh Gurjar and several others booked for allegedly assaulting women, a police officer confirmed on Tuesday. The incident transpired at Gurjar's residence in Ohadpur, Mahalgaon, when women and men approached the MLA about electricity issues. Post-incident, they filed a complaint at the SP office, said police.
Superintendent of Police Dharmaveer Singh revealed that Munni Lodhi from Mau Pahari filed the initial complaint. Consequently, an FIR was lodged against the Congress MLA and unidentified individuals under multiple sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sahita (BNS), including 115(2), 296, and 3(5). The case is currently under investigation, Singh added.
Earlier, Additional Superintendent of Police Shiyaz KM noted that residents from Mau Pahadi visited to allege that Gurjar misbehaved with and assaulted them over an electric transformer issue. Promised to be installed before elections, the transformer dispute led to the altercation when residents met the MLA on Monday. Further action awaits the investigation's outcome, Shiyaz said.
