Tragic School Van Accident Leaves One Dead, 15 Injured in Ballia District

A school student died and 15 others were injured when a pickup van carrying them lost control and hit a parked truck in Ballia district. The incident, which occurred early Saturday morning, has left several students critically injured. An investigation is underway.

Early Saturday morning, a tragic accident occurred in Ballia district when a school van lost control and collided with a parked truck, killing one student and injuring at least 15 others, according to District Magistrate Praveen Kumar Lakshyakar.

The accident transpired near Kapuri Narayanpur in the Fefna police station area. The injured students are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital, with three to four in critical condition.

The District Magistrate stated that a brain-dead child had been brought to the hospital. Critical cases have been referred to Varanasi for advanced care, while the remaining patients are being treated in the ICU and Critical Care Unit. An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
