Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida emphasized key details of the Subhadra Yojana, revealing a Rs 10,000 crore budget for the scheme. A list of 1.5 crore women beneficiaries has been compiled, and a standard operating procedure (SOP) will be established to guide fund distribution. 'A provision of Rs 10,000 crore has been made in the Subhadra scheme. A list of one crore 50 lakh women has been prepared. An SOP will be made to decide who will get how much. Feedback will be taken from various sections of society and the SOP will be finalized,' Parida stated.
The Deputy CM announced that the Subhadra Yojana will be launched in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This follows Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's Wednesday announcement that the scheme would be inaugurated on September 17, coinciding with the Prime Minister's birthday.
Responding to the motion of thanks on the governor's address in the Assembly, Majhi declared that each eligible woman, constituting 50 percent of the state's population, will receive Rs 50,000. 'No development can be achieved by ignoring women. The dream of every woman for financial independence and empowerment will be fulfilled with the implementation of the scheme,' Majhi asserted.
Majhi also highlighted that the BJP government aims to fulfill the aspirations of Odisha's 4.5 crore people and establish 'Odia Asmita' through transparent administration. The first duty of the state government is to protect and enrich Odia language, literature, culture, and heritage, with Rs 200 crore already allocated for this cause.
