In an effort to ease the suffering experienced by common people in Odisha, former Chief Minister and current Leader of Opposition, Naveen Patnaik, has reached out to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Patnaik has urged Banerjee to facilitate the smooth supply of potatoes to Odisha, highlighting a shortage crisis exacerbated by continuous rains.

Patnaik addressed the issue in a letter, noting, "Due to rains, there has been a short supply of potatoes in the Odisha market, resulting in an artificial price hike adding to the sufferings of common people." He expressed concern over the current scarcity in local markets.

Highlighting the root cause, Patnaik mentioned media reports of long queues of potato-laden trucks waiting at the West Bengal-Odisha border. In a direct appeal, Patnaik requested Banerjee's intervention to swiftly resolve the situation. "I request you to kindly intervene in the matter and ensure a smooth supply of potatoes to Odisha," he wrote, expressing hope for prompt support in the interest of the people of Odisha. (ANI)
