Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured that the government has provided all necessary facilities for recruits under the 'Agniveer Scheme,' despite opposition efforts to spread misinformation about the initiative.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Fadnavis emphasized that the Agnipath scheme was launched to bring younger talent into the armed forces. He warned that a higher average age within the military could pose significant challenges during wartime.
The Deputy Chief Minister insisted that Agniveers should be respected and face no problems in the future, reiterating that all provisions are included in the scheme. He also referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Kargil Vijay Diwas speech, where the PM criticized the opposition's stance on the scheme, suggesting it jeopardizes national security.
Fadnavis spoke on the occasion of the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas, marking India's victory in the 1999 Kargil War, during which PM Modi paid tribute to the martyrs at the Kargil War Memorial in Ladakh.
