On Friday, Karnataka's BJP MPs protested in the parliament premises over alleged corruption in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and Valmiki Development funds. National Spokesperson of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rajya Sabha member, Sudhanshu Trivedi, criticized the Congress government, alleging misuse of development funds intended for the most deprived sections of society.

Trivedi stated, "The Congress government was given at least 35 to 40 minutes to speak today on the MUDA case in the assembly. We demand a high-level probe into the corruption allegations and expect the Chief Minister of Karnataka to take moral responsibility." He emphasized the need for accountability concerning the funds meant for Scheduled Tribes.

Former Chief Minister and MP Basvaraj Bommai further accused the Congress of looting Rs 1087 crore in the Valmiki Development Corporation case, questioning Rahul Gandhi's inaction. Bommai challenged Congress to allow a CBI investigation if they believed their actions were justified. BJP MP Jagadish Shettar added that opposition leaders' demands for discussions in the assembly were being denied, implicating Congress in the alleged corruption.

In response, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar defended the Chief Minister, stating that the accusations were baseless and aimed at destabilizing the government. Shivakumar explained that the contested property had been lawfully compensated, accusing the BJP of trying to tarnish the Congress government's image.

The BJP announced plans for a 10-day Padyatra protest beginning on July 31, to further highlight the alleged scams by the Siddaramaiah-led government.
