Rajasthan Farmers Receive Over Rs 377 Crore in Hailstorm Assistance
Over the last five years, 3,41,133 farmers affected by hailstorms in Rajasthan have received Rs 377.52 crore in assistance. Minister Otaram Dewasi detailed this aid in the Assembly, highlighting that affected farmers receive compensation within six months of application. The state also received over Rs 10,314 crore in grants from the Centre during this period.

Over the past five years, more than three lakh farmers in Rajasthan who were affected by hailstorms have received financial assistance totaling Rs 377.52 crore, as revealed by Minister of State for Disaster Management Otaram Dewasi in an Assembly session on Thursday.
Responding to a supplementary query from an MLA during Question Hour, Dewasi explained that a total of 3,41,133 farmers benefited from the agricultural input-subsidy assistance provided by the state government.
The Minister further disclosed that during the same period, the Rajasthan government received over Rs 10,314 crore from the Centre under the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) guidelines, ensuring continuous support for the state's disaster management efforts.
Dewasi assured the Assembly that upon receiving applications from affected farmers, compensation is disbursed within six months. He clarified that compensation for crop failure does not depend on land quality but is guided by SDRF rules, which stipulate assistance for losses of 33 per cent or more due to notified natural disasters.
