In a decisive move aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directives, the Uttar Pradesh government has suspended a Regional Inspector due to delays in issuing fitness certificates for school buses. An official release states that disciplinary action has also been recommended against the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (Enforcement).

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has consistently warned government officers against negligence and has implemented a stringent zero-tolerance policy, particularly targeting those involved in corruption and laxity. The most recent incident underscores the government's firm stance against inefficiency.

On Tuesday, July 23, two school buses from Shriji Inter College in Chitrakoot district were seized for having expired fitness certificates. The Assistant Regional Transport Officer's team transported the buses and young students to a police complex 10 km away, resulting in a two-hour delay. The delay in issuing fitness certificates, attributed to Regional Inspector Gulab Chandra, prompted the government's strict action.

The buses were seized at 11:15 AM and held until 1:05 PM, causing significant inconvenience. Regional Inspector Gulab Chandra failed to inspect and issue the necessary certifications, leading to the seizure. The Yogi government responded by suspending Chandra and recommending disciplinary actions against Assistant Regional Transport Officer Vivek Kumar Shukla.

Following the incident, the Transportation Department issued stringent instructions to all personnel to prevent such negligence in the future.
