Adani Green Energy announced on Wednesday that it has operationalised a 250MW wind power generation facility at the world's largest renewable energy plant, located in Khavda, Gujarat.

This marks a significant milestone, boosting the total operational capacity at the Khavda plant to 2,250 MW, as stated by Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL).

This achievement further solidifies AGEL's leading position in India, with the largest operational renewable energy portfolio totaling 11,184 MW.

Khavda stands out with some of the best wind resources in India, boasting speeds of 8 meters per second, making it an ideal site for wind energy harnessing.

The Khavda Renewable Energy plant employs state-of-the-art onshore wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a capacity of 5.2 MW. These WTGs, featuring advanced German technology, make efficient use of land and help reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE).

The 5.2 MW WTGs at Khavda are produced at Adani New Industries Ltd's (ANIL) integrated manufacturing ecosystem, strategically located near the Mundra port.

AGEL's efforts have transformed Khavda's barren wasteland into a hub of clean, affordable energy capable of powering 16.1 million homes annually.
