TMC leader Kunal Ghosh condemned the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday over his controversial statement suggesting there is 'no need for a minority morcha.'

Ghosh described the remark as undemocratic. 'They (BJP) are saying that there should not be a minority front; it is against democracy. Here there is a Hindu majority and then there are minorities, Muslims, and Christians, and all democratic parties have a minority cell,' Ghosh asserted while speaking to ANI.

In response to Adhikari's call to dissolve the Minority Morcha, Ghosh said, 'If it (BJP) had been a democratic party, it would have said that our party is for everyone. But they are saying that minority Morcha should not be there.' Earlier in the day, Adhikari had urged his party members to embrace the stance 'Jo Hamare Saath, Hum Unke Saath' (We are with those who support us) instead of the inclusive slogan 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' (development for all).

Adhikari later clarified on social media that his comments were taken out of context and emphasized his commitment to inclusive nationalism as inspired by Prime Minister Modi's call for 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.' He stressed the importance of siding with nationalists and exposing those who work against the nation's interests.

The senior BJP leader also reiterated his pledge to protect Hindu interests and uphold the Constitution. 'The fight will continue. Will all of you join us? Will we fight like before together? We will win. We will save Hindus, save the Constitution,' Adhikari declared.
