The Latur district administration has reported receiving 81,225 applications under Maharashtra's 'Mazi Ladki Bahin' scheme, which provides a monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 to eligible women, officials revealed on Tuesday.

Out of the total applications, 35,266 have already been submitted online, while the online registration process is ongoing for 45,959 more applications. To increase awareness about the changes in eligibility criteria for the scheme, District Collector Varsha Thakur-Ghuge has directed officials to launch comprehensive campaigns in both rural and urban areas.

Local Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, Gram Sevaks, ration shopkeepers, Talathis, agricultural assistants, and motivators from women's self-help groups are being engaged to facilitate the application process and ensure that more eligible women can benefit from the scheme.
