Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has condemned the fatal attack on CRPF personnel in Jiribam, which resulted in the death of one soldier.

In a statement on social media platform X, Singh attributed the attack to Kuki militants. "His supreme sacrifice in the line of duty shall not go in vain," he declared, extending condolences to the victim's family and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.

The ambush targeted a convoy in Manipur's Jiribam district amid ongoing ethnic tensions since May 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured efforts to restore normalcy, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the security situation in June.
