On Sunday, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone of a new tourism complex in Auhar, Bilaspur district. This ambitious project, slated to cost Rs 33.75 crore, aims to boost the region's tourism sector with a modern facility that includes a hotel block, food court, and recreational zone. The entire project is expected to be completed within two years.

Directing the tourism department to ensure quality construction, the Chief Minister detailed the hotel's features: a reception, a restaurant for 60 people, a conference room for 30, a Dham hall for 400, and a banquet hall for 300. The hotel will offer 40 guest rooms. The food court will have seating for 214, featuring eight stalls, a pickup area, common toilets, a kids' play area, and a green area.

The recreational zone will include a swimming pool, gym and spa, pantry, store, back office, and toilet facilities. The first floor will host an indoor games room, a lobby area, four massage rooms, and additional toilets. Additionally, a sewage treatment plant with a 50 KLD capacity and green landscaping will be included.

He emphasized the project's luxury and its integration with water sports activities at Gobind Sagar Lake. The second phase with additional amenities like an amusement park will bring the total project cost to Rs 150 crore. Sukhu highlighted that this initiative boosts the state's infrastructure and employment opportunities, aiming to make Himachal Pradesh a top tourist destination. He expressed gratitude to citizens for their support in recent Assembly bypolls and criticized the BJP for attempting to destabilize the government.

Sukhu urged BJP leaders to adopt a constructive opposition role and support state interests with the union government. He assured that with the conclusion of the model code of conduct, development activities would resume. Public grievances were heard, and a cheque of Rs 31,000 was presented for the CM Relief Fund by the Lamberdar Jan Kalyan Sangh. Several dignitaries, including Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani, were present at the occasion.
