Delhi University (DU) has decided to postpone the start of the semester for first-year students to August 16, following delays in the release of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) results. This announcement was made by Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh on Saturday.

Originally slated to begin on August 1, the initial delay in CUET-UG results has disrupted the academic calendar. Singh assured that classes for other semesters would go ahead as planned on August 1. 'The result has not been announced, but it will impact the academic calendar for the students in the first semester. The semester will likely start on August 16. For other semesters, we will begin on August 1,' he told ANI.

Singh also mentioned that the university is yet to receive any communication from the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the CUET-UG. The agency is currently facing paper leak allegations related to NEET-UG and UGC-NET, causing delays in the CUET-UG results. According to the NTA's information bulletin, the results were initially scheduled for release on June 30, but the delay continues to impact admission schedules across participating universities.
