Himachal Pradesh BJP on Saturday expelled Harpreet Singh Saini, BJP's state co-media Incharge, for six years for contesting by-elections against the party's authorized candidate. A BJP release said that state party chief Rajeev Bindal has expelled Saini from the primary membership of party for six years for contesting against the party's authorized candidate, KL Thakur, in the by-election of Nalagarh Assembly.

The by-elections for Hamirpur, Nalagarh and Dehra assembly constituencies are scheduled for July 10. BJP leader and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur had said earlier that the Bharatiya Janata Party is getting full support and blessings from the people of Himachal Pradesh and exuded confidence that the BJP would win all the assembly by-elections.
