The Uttar Pradesh government is focusing on Shri Anna Recipe Development and consumer awareness programmes in the three-day 'Shri Anna Mahotsav' as part of the International Year of Millets celebrations. In a move to encourage farmers for millet production, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh as part of Millets Year celebrations, will organise a three-day 'Shri Anna Mahotsav' and state-level millet workshop at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow, from October 27 to 29, an official release said on Tuesday.

As part of a unique initiative, on Saturday, the Agriculture Department will conduct the Shri Anna Food Competition to raise public awareness about millet products. Under the International Year of Millets, millets are being continuously promoted as a healthy food option. The mahotsav will involve the hotel and restaurant industry in exploring the potential of millets.

Additionally, they will also participate in three contests for ready-to-eat millet products, live counters, and bakery items. Representatives of hotels and restaurants will present their preparations at Chatori Gali on Saturday. A total of 25 stalls have been selected so far to take part in the contest. The best three participants in all three categories will be awarded on Sunday. In the Shree Anna Mahotsav to be held under the supervision of the Agriculture Department, representatives of hotels and restaurants will discuss the possibilities of millet products in food industry. The Shri Anna Food Competition will also feature millet dishes like millet, buckwheat, ramdana, jowar, kodo etc, for the general public.

Moreover, this event will be organised in Chatori Gali before Krishi Kumbh 2.0, but the hotels and restaurants performing best in the Shri Anna Food Competition will also be rewarded. The goal is related to Shree Anna recipe development and consumer awareness. The Lucknow Development Authority will also be participating in this initiative, along with the Agriculture Department.
